Magnificat – C.P.E. Bach & J.S. Bach

Matthias Maute, Conductor

Two-time JUNO Award winning conductor, composer, recorder, and flute soloist Matthias Maute has achieved an international reputation. In 2016 he was named artistic director of the Bach Society of Minnesota and in 2019 of the professional choir Ensemble vocal Arts-Québec.

Sarah Brailey, Soprano

Soprano Sarah Brailey has been hailed by The New York Times for her “exquisitely phrased” singing and by Opera UK for “a sound of remarkable purity.” 

Clara Osowski, Alto

Mezzo-soprano Clara Osowski, who sings “from inside the music with unaffected purity and sincerity” (UK Telegraph), is an active soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States and Europe.

Roy Heilman, Tenor

Twin Cities-based tenor Roy Heilman is an in-demand soloist and small ensemble collaborator, who most frequently performs music of the Renaissance and Baroque eras. Highlights from his career of over two decades include dozens of cantatas and all the major works of J.S. Bach.

Jeffrey Fields, Bass

Jeffrey Fields moved to the Twin Cities from California in 2021, where he sings regularly as soloist and ensemble member with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra (since 1999), American Bach Soloists (since 2002), Bach Collegium San Diego (since 2011), and Carmel Bach Festival (since 1998). Jeffrey made his Carnegie Hall solo debut in Handel’s Messiah in 2007, under Andrew Megill.
