About the Photography

Natasha D'Schommer, Photographer
Natasha D’Schommer is a photographer who concentrates on portraiture, landscape, and still life. She worked as a freelance photojournalist for six years after which she opened his studio in 1998. She worked as a portrait photographer and a photojournalist both in the United States and abroad with work including an honoree dinner for Graham Katherine, the Tour de France, and many elegant weddings. Natasha holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from New England College, West Sussex, and an MFA from Vermont College of Visual Arts. Her still life work offers an intimate look at rare manuscripts that were previously un-photographed, among them Emily Dickinson's letters and Beethoven's sketchbooks. Her landscape work explores a serene and spare Midwestern landscape - often printed through a heat transfer process on stone - cloudy blue skies and undulating hills. She was born in Minnesota (Minneapolis), and had her first professional photography job at the age of sixteen. For slightly over half of her life, the artist has been capturing and viewing the world, both past and present, through the lens of her camera. Her work has appeared in several bridal magazines, Pottery Barn, Victoria Magazine, and numerous galleries. Her art is influenced by human spirit, dogs, athletes, artists, architects, writers and designers. Alongside photography, she also uses paint and hand-lettering to create her artwork.
