Scene and Heard

A Monarch's Journey

Welcome to the Scene and Heard Series, where storytelling and song are woven into a delightful theatrical experience! This summer we are pleased to present A Monarch’s Journey, which follows a butterfly and her friends on their fantastic migration from Minnesota to Mexico - and back again! Featuring music from Baroque to pop, audiences are invited to experience nature’s beauty through a tale of adventure and friendship. This performance stars creator Gabby Doran, soprano, and Jake Endres, baritone, plus some very special guests! Performed in English and running one hour, these shows are a treat for audiences of all ages.

Her experience as a singer spans two decades in the Twin Cities chamber music scene, working with diverse groups such as The Bach Society of MN, Border CrosSing, Nautilus Music Theater, and First Readings Project (among others) all while serving as soprano soloist at the Cathedral of Saint Paul. Gabby is also a songwriter, composer, and recording artist, with her first full-length album released in 2023. In 2024 she wrote and starred in One Night in the Fairy Forest, and she is thrilled to continue this kind of new theatrical offering with A Monarch’s Journey. More at gabbydoranmusic.com.
